The Bulgars • The Discussion Continues

This collection of articles puts through the idea that the earliest roots of Bulgars are Indo-lranian, while Altaic (Turkic) infiltrations took place in the Bulgar society in the Caucasus region and north of it only from the 5th century onwards, much later after the Bulgars had settled in the aforementioned area.

And while the study of processes, separate facts, and phenomena through the prism of Indo-lranian origin has been advancing at a rapid pace in the last three decades, the defenders of the so-called Turkic (hypo)thesis about the ancient roots of the Bulgars are In defence.' Perhaps this book will provoke them to a scrutinized scientific discussion. We hope so! Hence, science will only win.
