The results of my studies, written between 2019 and 2024, can be found here. I penned six of them, in this period. One more study, published in 2013, is also included in the book.

They were presented at conferences in Bulgaria, in the UK and on the pages of a journal in Ukraine.

The field research was conducted mainly in Bulgaria and the UK but also some in Turkiye. The chamber studies and the creation of the texts were done in Bognor Regis. Despite our best efforts; one may come across inaccuracies in the presentation of these studies.

The studied toponyms, mainly of Turkish origin, emerged between the 16th—20th centuries, within the boundaries of modem Bulgaria. This has been my research niche for years. The main aim of my study in Bognor Regis was to research a specific hydronym within the frame of the local history.

I must point out that changes and additions during the editing of this book have been made, aiming to improve and update the information, as well as to provide better access to the specific texts. For this reason, a short glossary of the terms has been included. Some new facts, discovered in 2024-2025, have been added to the main text of the studies.

Hasan Yakub Hasan was born in l964, in the town of Omurtag. He now resides in Bognor Regis, West Sussex, the UK.

He has graduated from the South-West University “Neofit Rilski”, Blagoevgrad, (BA in geography) and holds a master’s degree in geography and a second one in public administration from Veliko Tamovo University ”St. Cyril and St. Methodius”, Bulgaria.

Hasan Hasan has worked in the fields of industry, public administration and education. At present, he is also a teacher at the Bulgarian Sunday School “Vasil Aprilov” in Bognor Regis.

His main interests lie in the fields of onomastics (toponyms and anthroponyms), geography, local history and folklore.

In 1997 Hasan Hasan published “Bir varmis bir yokmus-Gerlovo ve Tuzluk masallari” in Turkish, (co-authored) and his own short story "Kafami kir, hatirimi kirma" (in Turkish) in 2015.

In the year 2000 he published, in co-authorship, the bilingual (Bulgarian and Turkish) „Турски приказки“/ "Тurк masallari".

On the other hand, he penned: "Fabeloj de mia avino" (1995), "Fiziko-geografia vortaro" (2012), as well as articles, reviews and translations in Esperanto.

In 2019 he published his significant study - the book “Антропоними в родословни структури от село Коноп (Кулфаллар)”(Ли/Лга/юиу»;л' in Genealogical Structures from the Village of Konop (Kulfallar), in Bulgarian.

He has authored a number of articles and papers in onomastics (place-names) (in Bulgarian, English and Esperanto) presented at scientific conferences. Some of them, published in English and Esperanto, are included in this book.

Hasan Hasan is a member of ‘The Bognor Regis Local History Society’, ‘English Place-Name Society’ and ‘Society for Name Studies in Britain and Ireland’ in the UK.
